T Level Thursday

We’re celebrating National Apprenticeship Week’s T Level Thursday with our first T Level Engineering student, Jake. He joined Cygnet Texkimp in January to complete an industry placement as part of his second-year T Level studies at Trafford & Stockport Colleges. Over the next few months, Jake will spend two days each week with our team, learning new skills and experiencing working life in a busy engineering business.

T Levels are qualifications for 16 to 19 year olds, taken after GCSEs. They are broadly equivalent to three A levels and focus on technical and vocational skills.

For Jake, this is a major step on the way to skilled employment, an apprenticeship or further study when he graduates from his T Level course this summer.

For our business, the initiative complements our apprenticeship programme and offers us a new way to discover the workforce of the future by finding and nurturing young talent in our local area.
