Engineering Innovation for the Future of Composites

At Cygnet Texkimp, innovation drives everything we do. We design and develop advanced fibre-handling and composite processing technologies that help industries across the world manufacture stronger, lighter, and more sustainable materials. Our Innovation Centre is the beating heart of this mission — a world-class space dedicated to research, development, and industrialisation of next-generation composite technologies.

Innovation Centre

Located at our Cheshire headquarters, Cygnet Texkimp’s Innovation Centre is a 15,000 sq ft, open-access facility created for product development, prototyping, and testing in the global composites and advanced materials industries. Our Innovation Centre bridges the gap between research and reality — transforming ideas into industrial capability.

Home to more than £12 million of cutting-edge machinery, it houses some of the world’s most advanced fibre-handling and downstream processing technologies, including:

  • Filament winding and 3D winding

  • Prepreg and tow preg processing
  • Slitting and spooling systems
  • Automation and fibre-handling solutions
  • Recycling and sustainability technologies

This unique environment enables manufacturers, researchers, and innovators to take their products from TRL (Technology Readiness Level) 5 or 6 to commercial viability and full-scale production with confidence.

Collaborative Development and Industry Partnerships

Within the Innovation Centre, we collaborate with industry leaders, universities, and research institutions to accelerate the development and validation of advanced composite manufacturing processes.

Organisations can conduct dedicated trials, prototyping, and process optimisation to:

  • Validate and optimise process design
  • Evaluate new materials and resins
  • Gather performance and business case data
  • Reduce commercial risk prior to capital investment
