Cygnet Texkimp, the fibre handling and converting technology specialist, is set to launch its latest recycling solution powered by B&M Longworth (Edgworth) Ltd’s component cleaning system, at JEC World from 3rd – 5th May 2022 in Paris. The launch event will take place on Tuesday 3rd at 14:00 CET.

Patented as DEECOM®, Cygnet Texkimp will showcase the benefits of a recycling solution in practice with reducing material waste from its filament winding and prepreg manufacturing processes. Using a combination of compressed and decompressed superheated steam cycles, the cleaning machine gently removes a range of frozen polymers from production equipment and composite fibres. The steam can eliminate contamination from the most inaccessible areas of filters, allowing for products and high-grade clean fibres to be reclaimed and reprocessed, improving component life cycles.

Luke Vardy, Cygnet Texkimp CEO, said: “Introducing DEECOM® to our waste recycling solution has vastly improved efficiency and reduction of waste material from the manufacturing process. We look forward to unveiling its capabilities in application with our machines at JEC this year.”

Cygnet Texkimp will showcase how its fibre-handling technologies benefit from the DEECOM® application, including the value gained from its use in an automated production cell. The main benefits on show will include:

  • Ease of use and operation.
  • Improved cleaning capability reducing energy usage.
  • No solvent to dispose of.
  • Lower overall cost of ownership.

In addition to these benefits, DEECOM® is an environmentally friendly cleaning system that aids Cygnet Texkimp in reducing prepreg wastage and offcuts for landfill. By using steam as the sole cleaning ingredient, DEECOM® has a low carbon footprint, expelling only clean, safe water vapour after the machine’s pressure swings, while outputs such as constituent parts, solids, resin monomers, and gases are removed and collected. The cleaning process negates the company’s use for pyrolysis incineration and transport costs for plastic waste.

Following the launch set for Tuesday, Director for Longworth, Jen Hill, will be speaking on Wednesday 5th at 14:00 CET in further detail regarding the company’s manufacture of the DEECOM® range.

Cygnet Texkimp will be exhibiting at JEC World in Hall 5, Stand M72, with a team on hand to answer any questions. To plan a visit, please refer to www.jec-world.events.
