Automated Rapid Tape

ART (Automated Rapid Tape) is a ground-breaking high-rate fibre deposition solution designed to manufacture high-performance, aerospace-grade, ultra-lightweight composite parts sustainably at rate and with minimal scrap.

The award-winning technology was originally conceived by global supercar manufacturer McLaren Automotive, which commissioned Cygnet Texkimp to develop its concept into a production-scale machine. That machine is now integrated into McLaren’s manufacturing processes, producing highly loaded and complex aerodynamic structural components for current supercar programmes including the McLaren W1 Ultimate Supercar.

ART is relevant to many other global industries for the manufacture of structural, composites intensive parts that are optimised for superior performance. Thanks to an exclusive licensing agreement, Cygnet Texkimp is now able to offer the solution to markets including aerospace, mainstream automotive, space, defence and wind energy.
