Embossing
Embossing is the process of applying a texture or pattern to one or both sides of a continuous sheet of material using engraved rollers. The process can be used to achieve a decorative finish, as in the case of embossed paper and foil, a functional finish, such as better adhesion, or enhanced mechanical properties like stiffness.
Cygnet Texkimp’s embossing technology can be used to process a range of materials, from thin films and foils with a thickness of just 10 microns up to 2mm stainless steel sheets. In-line heating technology can also be incorporated where necessary.
Typical applications include hologram embossing for anti-corruption technologies, paper and tissue embossing, and sheet steel for cladding used in construction.
